Private culture and wildlife journeys

Tanzania Cultural Safaris

These private journeys combine Tanzania wildlife with time in places such as Maasailand, Lake Eyasi, Lake Natron and Mto wa Mbu. Start with the cultural experience that interests you, then choose the route and season that fits your trip.

★★★★★ What guests say about travelling with us

“A fantastic and authentic experience that we highly recommend. Rose was also incredibly kind and welcoming.” Ricardo Silva, Google review — Materuni cultural experience

Start with the experience

What would you like your safari to include beyond wildlife?

Culture should have enough time to feel meaningful. These routes are built around real travel days rather than adding a quick stop simply to tick a box.

Hadzabe & Datoga

Choose Lake Eyasi routes if you are especially interested in Hadzabe and Datoga experiences alongside Tarangire, Serengeti or Ndutu.

Maasailand

Our Maasai-focused journeys allow proper time in Maasailand before continuing into the wildlife parks rather than treating the visit as a roadside stop.

Lake Natron

Best for travellers drawn to volcanic landscapes, remote scenery and a different side of northern Tanzania between safari areas.

Mto wa Mbu

A good addition when you want a local village experience that fits naturally between the northern parks.

Culture + migration

Choose the seasonal routes when you want cultural experiences together with Ndutu calving or Northern Serengeti migration months.

The complete journey

The longer 12 and 15-day routes are for travellers who want several cultural areas and more wildlife time without rushing between them.

Then consider season and pace

Some routes work year round; others are built around migration months

Year-round cultural safaris

Lake Eyasi, Maasailand and classic Serengeti combinations can be planned through most of the year, with accommodation and road conditions checked for your dates.

December to March

Choose Ndutu cultural combinations if you want Lake Eyasi or Maasailand together with the southern Serengeti calving season.

July to October

Choose Northern Serengeti cultural combinations when river-season wildlife and the northern migration area are part of your priority.

A note from our Tanzania team

We would rather give a cultural experience enough time

Some cultural areas deserve more than a quick stop between game drives. That is why the routes are different in length. If you want Maasailand, Lake Eyasi or Lake Natron to be an important part of the trip, tell us that when you enquire and we will protect enough time for it.
