Payment Policy
This page explains how payments work with Serengeti Wild Tours, including the 10% downpayment, balance payment, accepted payment methods, transaction charges, receipts, and payment safety.

10% downpayment to confirm your booking
To confirm your safari, Kilimanjaro climb, Zanzibar holiday, day trip, or tailor-made Tanzania itinerary, Serengeti Wild Tours requires a 10% downpayment of the total trip cost.
Why only 10%? We want you to feel comfortable securing your trip without paying a large amount too early. Your deposit allows us to start reserving the guide, vehicle, mountain crew, accommodation, permits, and other services needed for your itinerary.
Balance payment
The balance payment date will be shown on your invoice or booking confirmation. For Kilimanjaro climbs, the remaining balance may be paid in cash on arrival if agreed in writing. Some safari trips require the balance earlier because lodges, camps, airlines, permits, and hotels may require advance payment.
For last-minute bookings, full payment may be required before services can be confirmed.
Accepted payment methods
Payment methods will be confirmed on your invoice. Depending on your country and booking type, available methods may include:
- Bank transfer
- Secure online card payment
- Wise or international money transfer services where available
- Cash balance payment on arrival by prior written agreement
Cash payment on arrival
For Kilimanjaro climbs, clients are welcome to bring the remaining balance in cash and pay on arrival, as long as this has been agreed in writing before travel.
For safari bookings, cash payment on arrival may also be an option depending on the safari terms, lodge payment rules, supplier deadlines, and how close the booking is to the travel date. Some lodges and camps require advance payment before arrival, so we will confirm this clearly on your invoice.
Please only pay using official payment details sent by Serengeti Wild Tours. If you receive different bank details from a suspicious email or message, contact us directly before paying.
Transaction fees
Bank charges, card processing fees, exchange rate differences, and international transfer costs are the responsibility of the client unless otherwise written on your invoice.
If paying by card, a card processing surcharge may apply. Your invoice will show any applicable payment fee before you pay.
Currency
Most Tanzania safari and Kilimanjaro quotations are provided in United States Dollars unless another currency is clearly written on your invoice. If you pay in another currency, exchange rate differences may apply.
Receipts and booking documents
After your payment is received, we will confirm receipt and continue arranging your booked services. Your booking confirmation, itinerary, and payment records will be shared by email or WhatsApp.
Please keep your payment confirmation until the trip is completed.
Payment security
For your safety, always check that payment details match the official information provided by Serengeti Wild Tours. We will never pressure you to send money to a personal account that has not been clearly confirmed in writing by our office.
If you are unsure, call or WhatsApp us before making payment.
Late payment
If the balance is not paid by the agreed date, suppliers may release accommodation, flights, permits, or other reserved services. If this happens, we will try to reinstate the booking, but availability and price may change.
Rescheduling after payment
If you have already paid and cannot travel, we will help you reschedule according to our cancellation and rescheduling policy.
- Kilimanjaro: your initial deposit can be protected for a new travel date within two years.
- Safari: your initial deposit can be protected for a new travel date within one year if lodges and suppliers allow the change.
Refunds
Refunds, where applicable, are processed after deducting non-refundable supplier costs, bank charges, card fees, permit costs, lodge charges, domestic flight costs, and any other confirmed third-party expenses.
Whenever possible, we encourage rescheduling instead of cancellation because it gives the best chance of protecting the value of your booking.
